Continuity:  The Marvel Universe is a very concise, well organized setting for any campaign. Comic book time in the Marvel Universe seems to be somewhat comparable to real time, though characters generally do not age beyond a certain point. Although Marvel and DC have done arbitrary character crossovers as if the characters were together in the same world, the mainstream Marvel Universe continuity and mainstream DC Universe continuity are kept seperate. The only being that can transcend the boundary and bring characters from the two mainstream continuities together is the young hero known as Access. If the two worlds remain united for two long they become amalgamated into a whole new universe
Social Situations and the Law:  In the marvel universe, superheroes are well known, generally well respected and often have celebrity status. Governments throughout the world have assembled nationally sanctioned and governmentally supervised super teams of their own. The most well known and respected super team is the avengers, who have acquired international police powers and are commonly granted special security clearance. Avengers are often asked to show a current membership identification card to obtain these powers. However, some super heroes in the Marvel Universe are feared. Mutant in particular are commonly subject to discrimination, harrasment and frequent assasination attempts. For this reason, mutant super teams such as the X-Men often operate with a low profile, though they often help more visible teams such as the Avengers. Some "heroes" such as, "The Punisher" are actually hunted by the law because they operate above the law. Criminals with superhuman powers are kept in a special prison called "The Vault" which has customed designed cells for each.
Other Unique Features:  In the Marvel Universe, the stars are populated by many alien races, which often war upon each other. Giant "Cosmic Beings" pre-date the big boom. One of these beings, known as Galactus is greatly feared because he subsists on the energy of planets and frequently consumes them. Some of these beings originated from "Cosmic Cubes" which are cubes of pure energy which have the power to grant anyone their greatest wishes and are frequently sought after by would-be-conquerors. The greatest object of power in the universe is the infamous "Infinity Gauntlet" which can give a being the power to defeat even the cosmic beings. There are also many alternate dimensions in the Marvel Universe. Demons and supernatural creatures frequently roam the earth, but vampires have been eradicated by a curse. Magic is understood by few and is protected by Doctor Strange.
